On 27 January 2023, High Commissioner Paul Stephens hosted a reception to celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Australia and Sri Lanka. This event was attended by key Sri Lankan government officials, members of the diplomatic community and other partners across development, education, trade and investment sectors.

29 April 2022 marks 75 years since the establishment of the Australia – Sri Lanka diplomatic relationship. Our bilateral relationship expands across a range of sectors including, education, trade and investment, culture and sport. A purpose-built 75th anniversary website was launched in 2022 to showcase 75 stories of friendship across all domains of our bilateral relationship. This website was displayed at the 75th anniversary event.
